I am quite sure that the sex wasn't the cause as they came about in a time when I wasn't having any sex. The problem is that it now hurts too much to have sex. What is the reality with this? Is there a way to get rid of them, or will I just have to forever refrain from anal sex? Please someone let me know. You have my thanks!

Colonoscopy allows examination of the entire colon. With the ideals of gastrointestinal problems, cancer, polyps, etc. any time there is blood in the stool there should be a colonoscopy done. This is probably one of the most uncomfortable procedures you will ever have done, but the pro's out weigh the cons. Polyps and even small tumors can be removed painlessly at the time of a colonoscopy, and it is never too late make sure you have no risks for cancer. Good luck!

I think I might go and see him again anyway, or find someone else to see about them. Thanks again.

Hey there, If you have been to the docs and he has diagnosed piles then he will have told you what treatment to take and what will be the best road for you to follow on recovering and aiding and relieving these. A colonososcopy is normally a way of taking a biopsy from the area to make sure there is nothing else that could be causing the piles, ie polyps something along those lines.. if your doctor is pretty sure its just a flare up of piles and nothing else then you may not need to take that route.. ask the doc to be on the safe side and air your concerns with him. If he thinks there is no need in his medical opinion then thats that advice you should take.. I wouldnt say dont have one done as im not medically qualified, but your doctor will have a beter idea of what hes looking at and be able to advise what is best for you in this sitation.

Well I know you can have an op to remove the Piles in severe cases so maybe thats an option, but as far as will that area recover im not sure, lots of woman get piles after child birth and they recover and its more comfortable, and many never have a prob again. Its more common to get piles than you think and not all to do wiht having anal sex although with an outbreak it cant help it!! its to do with strain in that area, bowel movement too firm (constipation) diarheoa, not enough fibre diet etc its part of the inside of the anal area dropping or expanding swelling, and so and is a collection of blood and viens and so on... there are many types of piles as you will see from the link i have attached.. It seems that they can be cleared and not come back, but im not sure what would be the outcome in your case, as some are internal and thats what it sounds like you have, and some are external. I think you may have to go to the docs and have them looked at properly, some piles according to this factsheet can clear up after 6 weeks provided you eat the correct foods and dont exert that area and take the correct treatment... perhaps allow yourself to fully recover be treated properly and take extra care in future an the outcome could be okay.

No, it won't last forever, but it will last a while (think 2 months or so). If you get a little better and then try anal before you're completely healed, you will pay for it. (Think how it feels now times ten.) And even if this occured when you were not having sex, the truth is that past sexual activity is probably the source of the problem. These take a while to develop to the point of being painful/noticeable. When you're able to have sex again, make sure that you use extra lubricant and are gentle at first. Be patient and you'll be fine. Good luck!

I can't stress it enough, get a colonoscopy. It may be hemorrhoids, or it could be some thing worse. If it is hemorrhoids, you can take ANUSOL, you can get IT over the counter also take a stool softener such as COLACE. Watch what you eat. Eat soft foods that easily digested, veggies or any thing high in fiber. Certainly sitz baths will help. Be sure your doctor understands just how much pain you are experiencing and how important it is that you get a suppository prescription to both shrink the hemorrhoids and control the pain. Good Luck!
