I had that feeling when I first started flying now I don't mind it. It can take a few flights to get used to. I found when I thought about the wonderful place I was about to go to and who I would see, it overcame my feelings of being scared. It will get better over time.
Also you have a better chance of winning a lottery twice then having something bad happen in an airplane crash. That helps ease my logical mind. Good luck.

Since I always travel with friends, I lean back, close my eyes and count, all while holding my friends hands. Usually once we're in the air and flying nice and steady, I'm fine. If they're turbulance, I swear I say a few Hail Mary's! But really, I don't sleep the night before so when I'm on the plane with my headphones on, I just pass out. I suggest that after take off you just not think about where you are, you know? And breathe! Listen to some soothing music that you love and just try to relax.

You need to find out why you're afraid. If you are scared, just hold someone's hand. Don't think it's stupid, because it's not. Some people are scared of spiders, some of heights, some of flying. There's nothing wrong with that. But the best thing to do is to look back in your life and find out why you're scared.
