Tisha-1 agony auntActually, the hymen can be torn or ruptured by sexual or other activities. http://women.webmd.com/picture-of-the-vagina

It may be only partially torn at this point, or it may be completely torn. My suggestion is that you go see a gynecologist if you have continuing pain. You should have one anyway if you are going to be sexually active.

Give yourself a little time for things to heal up before you try intercourse again and then when you do, use a safe lubricant and make sure that you are really fully aroused before attempting penetration again.

A very few women experience what's called vaginissmus, where the muscles at the entrance of the vagina contract involuntarily and prevent any comfortable insertion of any object. This is pretty rare but again, if you are experiencing pain over a long period of time, this is your body's way of saying, 'something's not right' and it's time to go get it checked out.

Safe sex, right????

Well, I don't know. I'm not a Doctor. But I don't think it's very important. You are just a bit shaken up because you've just lost your virginity. It happens to everyone. The first time is always awkward and it leaves us with mixed emotions sometimes.

Take care.

A female reader, ruby buttons United Kingdom +, writes (8 July 2010):

ruby buttons agony auntyour hymen has broken it can break just by cycling or riding a horse, the reason your tight is because you are not relaxed enough maybe get some lube and extra foreplay will help this the more you worry about the hymen situation the more your body is stressing so it is more difficult for you to relax. have fun be safe and dont worry! :)
