A female United Kingdom age 30-35, AuntBeth writes:

Several people have asked me, over the recent months, how I got together with the man in my life. I decided to jot this little tale down for the amusement of you all here at DearCupid.

It began on one dull Monday morning, when I received a call from an older friend. He told me he was putting on a play of Shakespeare's 'Romeo and Juliet', and thought I'd be pefect for Juliet. I was absolutely over the moon! I said 'yes' immediately, and he told me I'd meet the cast the next week.

I was amongst the first there. A few people I recognised from my school days (other friends of his) were there. I asked around "Who's playing Romeo?", but no one knew.

Suddenly, in swooped this tall, gorgeous young man: a couple of years older than myself. I was captured by his appearance; from the way he smiled to the way he sauntered across the room. I was spell-bound. He called out: "Who's Juliet?". I nervously raised my hand. He looked at me and raised an eyebrow, before folding his arms. I hissed "What's his name?" at the girl next to me, and she whispered: "Henry."

Henry was Romeo, and I his Juliet. He was a brilliant actor, but a complete a-hole of a man. He strutted around like he owned the place, and spoke as if he just couldn't be bothered. I began to get very short with him, and during our one-on-one rehearsal, I yelled: "For God's sake, Henry, just f***ing listen to me!".

He held some respect for me then. We even got through the romantic scenes fairly easily, not allowing awkwardness to seep through. However, when in the script it suggested we kiss, I quickly turned my nose up (for fear he'd do the same). "We don't have to do that, right?" I asked.

"No, I think we should. It's in the script, after all." He replied, and so we did.

Our first kiss was scripted, but it was magnificent. Fireworks went off in my brain as my lips touched his own. It seemed like it was meant to be. And it was...

Two days before the show, he invited me over to his house for a 'private rehearsal', and we ended up rehearsing a little more than we'd planned. Since then, I've fallen totally in love with him. We're in a happy relationship and going strong.
