I have been dying my hair for years now and it is currently really dark brown with a tinge of red in it. I tried to dye it a dark red like britney spears in the 'womanizer' music video but it just went brown and was tinged red in the sunlight.

I'd really like to go the colour of britney, how should i do this? do I need to strip my hair? and then dye it and what colour dye should i use?

justjess agony auntschwarzkopf Live colour xxl is what I used the first time I dyed my hair from dark brown to red.

It worked really well and went red red red, after that i was able to experiment with different hair dyes to find the shade of red I wanted.

I then gave up and dyed it back to brown and let it grow out :P but good luck

The Realist agony auntI'm no hair expert and I reccomend talking to a stylest even if you want to do it yourself. I do know however that stripping your hair or pigment is a terrible thing to do and I don't think it is worth getting the colour. It will dry your hair right out and cause alot of damage that you would have to spend alot of money to fix.

I would think, just based on colour mixing that if you did more of a solid red without the brown in the dye it should mix with your darker hair and give you the red I think you are looking for. Please don't quote me on this and I still say talking to a hair stylest is your best bet because I find it hard to really picture everything based on a word description.

Good luck though and I hope you can get it to turn out because I'm sure it will look good.
