Its just when he penetrates me, and it stings like mad. During foreplay its completely fine. I've been having sex with him for about 6 months now, and I've not had this problem. And he isn't my first sexual partner.I wonder if anyone has any idea what could be causing it? I am planning on going to the doctor about it, just haven't had the time yet. Thanks

reader, anonymous, writes (21 February 2010): Seek medical help with it, because there was even something on Dr. Oz on tv about pain during intercourse and there being an actual condition you can have resulting in the pain, called vulvodynia. I'm not a woman, so I can't say many reasons, but all I can say is that I'm very confident the doctor will be able to find what is causing it. It would be ridiculous to say for sure which thing without being the doctor who checks you, and it might be something very small causing it, but two big things it could be are the vulvodynia thing or endometriosis, which is equally as hard to diagnose, because when searching for the vulvodynia thing, I found on Dr.Oz's website the endometriosis, and it states that some women wait years for a diagnosis on that one, because it doesn't show up on an ultrasound or other imaging tests. Some of the symptoms of endometriosis are severe cramping in both lower back and abdomen starting before your period, lasting several days after period starts. Painful sex(sharp pelvic pain), painful bowel movements, possible constipation or diarrhea, especially around the time of your period. Excessive or heavy bleeding during, or consistent bleeding between periods. If you possibly have any of these together, go tell the doctor.. The type of pain associated with vulvodynia can be characterized as burning, stinging or irritation, which can occur during or after sexual activity and in other situations. Please wikipedia the rest or try to look it up in more detail on Dr. Oz's site, if possible, because his details were very accurate about it in many ways. Same with vulvodynia, which is finally being recognized as being so common a culprit in many, many women. If it's not one of these things, it could be something else, but I hope my input helps. Good luck.
