A female reader, straight to the truth United Kingdom +, writes (8 August 2008):

This will be because yur not shaving right, if you shave in an intimate area then you need to shave with the grain not against it. so make sure you shave int he same direction the hair grows.

I have to agree with the feed back from one of the other agaony aunts....if this is your true age i would recommend leaving well alone for a while.

PsyCookie agony auntIf your age is correct, I wouldn't recommend for you to shave your private areas for now. Just trim them until you're a bit older.

But I think the reason this happens to you is because you're not shaving right and your skin is responding accordinlgly. If you still want to shave your pubes, then go to youtube and type in their search engine "How to shave vagina" and there will be a couple of videos that will show you how to shave properly. I can attest to you that after I saw the videos, the redness, itchyness, and bumps got redused after I learned how to do the process correctly. Although I can tell you how to do it, it's just way easier to learn by watching, so give it a try.

Now for the underarms, put more shaving cream in the area. Also, before you shave, put water around the blade. It makes the blade a bit sharper and easier to manage.

If you are using a manual blade, I recommend you to go for an electric one. You won't imagine how easier it is to shave with an electric shave after you have tried it. The bumps will be reduced and more hairs will be shaven with it, along with less irritation and bumps.

DoubleM agony auntWell I've seen that happen to females in both places - but just little bumps that go away after a day or a few hours. I think that is probably just from irritation in a sensitive area, but if you mean large bumps that stay, you might want to check that out medically.
