ok, im 18 and i just lost my virginity 11 days ago.... is it possible that i could be pregnant already? and if i was, could i be having a miscarriage this soon? because earlier when i went to go use the bathroom, i had heavy bleeding, which wasn't like if i was on my period, and i just had my period 13 days ago.... so its too soon for me to be having it again... does anybody know whats up?

You havent had enough time to be pregnant but to be sure go along to your doctors and explain it all to them. The best advice i can give.

take care

It sounds like there has not been enough time for any pregnancy to have reached a point of a formed amniotic sack and fluid including blood. So I would think it unlikely in addition to the reasons mentioned by others.

You should see your doctor because it is bleeding that is not expected and so should be medically checked and while it is likely due just to the loss of your virginity you cannot ignore it.

Good luck

Yeah it could be a miscarriage. I had that exact same thing once. The first thing the doctor will rule out is pregnancy. They can detect that right away with a urine sample. If that is ruled out then she will also examine you for gonnorrhea/chlamydia and cervical cancer. These tests take about two weeks for the results. Once all four of those are ruled out then the only possible thing it could be is something hormonal or perhaps an injury from the sex.

You should go to the doctor though so that with tests they can rule out anything that could actually harm you.

rcn agony auntI'd say go to the doctor to find out. It can be so many things. I could be an "additional" period by loosing your virginity as well. Go get checked to make sure everything is OK with you.

I hope the "loss" of your virginity was worthwhile, so maybe I should say congratulations :) One question: when you say you had your period 13 days ago, do you mean the day your period started or the day it stopped? In medicine, we always count from the first day of your last period so as to avoid any confusion. Either way, it is unlikely that you fell pregnant, because in normal cycles ovulation takes place around the 15th day AFTER the first day of your period. You will find though that your body has to adjust to your new-found sexuality, so you will probably have irregular periods initially, also disrupted by WANTING to have your period, being afraid when it's a day late or so, etc. Also remember the fact that more than 20 % of all pregnancies are "miscarried" during the first few weeks without the woman even knowing about it. So relax. However, if you ARE worried, go and see a gynaecologist. And remember "safer sex" in all aspects, please.
