If you took your pill on the first day of your period then you were protected.

However, even if not then I still wouldn't worry. The pill can seriously mess up your periods at first, remember you're putting hormones into your body - it's not going to have no effect at all, it should be explained in the leaflet in the packet.

lotus mama808 agony auntthe pill can really make your periods crazy. I dont think you are miscarrying, however, YOU MUST SEE YOUR OB if you are feeling unsure. When I started the pill, my periods got heavy, painful, and super bothersome.

I would say you're probably worrying unnecessarily. If you were to have a miscarriage this early on, you wouldn't even notice it. Your period may have just been delayed a few days more than usual by the pill, and the muddy colour is just slightly older blood. The first few periods after starting the pill can often be a bit wierd.

nettles agony auntBeing on the pill can make periods sorer at first, cause it sorta messes up your system at first.

If you really are worried then you should take a pregnancy test or see your doctor.

However, its probably better to wait until your next period to see if its normal.
