its really hard to accept that we women are having really this trouble during our days. theres nothing we can really do against it only a little support from either vitamins or some mild medication. but i dont really take medication cos its not really a good thing to rely on. but i do some vitamins and one help me a lot is magnisium. maybe it help you too. good luck dear

reader, anonymous, writes (12 November 2010): Cramps are caused by prostaglandins (say: pross-tuh-glan-dunz), chemicals a girl's body produces to make the muscles of the uterus contract. The contracting muscles help push the blood out through a girl's vagina during her period. Basically it's a bit like when you're in labor and have contractions, it's just these contactions are pushing the blood through the body.

reader, anonymous, writes (12 November 2010): It's simple biology, your body produces a hormone that forces the muscles to tighten, and thus push the blood out of your body.
This obviously varies for every woman, some get it really bad, others not so much.
