Hi,
I just found the book so I though I'd better give you the whole, correct title:
Gail Sheehy
UNDERSTANDING MEN'S PASSAGES
Discovering the New Map Of Men's Lives
You could probably find a used copy on the net,

It's really hard to know why he has said this, but you need more information. Drag him to a marriage councellor before he has a chance to say no. He could be mildly depressed if he is approaching middle-age, it could be his job or it could even be health related. If he hasn't seen a physician lately - he should. I wish I could be more help, but I highly recommend Gail Sheehey's "The Male Menopause". Although I bought several books on female age problems, this was the only book that I read cover to cover. It really helped me understand some of the crisis that men go through at mid-life. Take Care.
