For example, a quickie will produce less ejaculate for me than if I get right to the point of orgasm several times over a long period of time and then finally ejaculate. If it's delayed, I seem to just gush, but if it's quick, it's just a little dribble.

It could just mean that he doesn't produce as much as you're expecting either from masturbation or its just the way that he is. I wouldn't worry about it unless its a fertility issue which chances are also isn't really an issue.
