I confronted him, he apologised and we stayed together. although most of the time he was a very nice and generous boyfriend there were times where I felt that something was just not right. I went away for 2 weeks (to visit family abroad) and in those 2 weeks he only sent me 4 sms so communication between us wasn't good. Last week after I arrived from back home, I told him that it's better if we stay friends. He told me he's got a confused heart because although he likes me a lot he can't committ himself to me. He added that he realises he's been a really bad boyfriend. When he slept, I went through his phone and checked his emails and found out that he met a girl (from what I could understand, he went on a date with a girl) while i was away. I couldn't take it anymore, I wrote him a note (told him I deserve a faithful man) and left his place while he was still asleep. The morning after I got a text from him. He said he's surprised by the note, that he cares a lot for me and that we should give each other 1 week time and then we'll meet to talk things over. He also said that he doesn't understand how he hasn't been faithful (he doesn't know i read his emails). I didn't reply.I miss him but I know I did the right thing. However, what hurts me the most is the fact that it's been a week and I haven't heard from him again. He hasn't even tried to get in touch with me to patch things up. My friends tell me that he didn't care about me at all since he's not even trying to make things work (or to get me back).

You broke up with him, so why are you expecting him to call. Just put your three months with him down to experience, and be happy it wasnt a lot longer.
I am sure the right guy for you is out there somewhere ....

Your friends are right. This guy wasn't committed at all, and clearly has little regard for your feelings. In truth, him not getting in contact is the best thing that could have happened, because now you can move on from the guy who was basically cheating on you. There's nothing left here for you two. The trust is gone, the communication has broken down. And in truth, the relationship was only 3 months old. There's just nothing there for you at all, and your best bet would be to move on.
