 Don't try to convince her. That is manipulative and selfish of you to try. The only reason you want her to do this is because of your desires. It's not meant to help her and will make her feel very uncomfortable and unhappy. Unless you are a mean and selfish person, you will respect her modesty and leave her alone.

I don't like to wear bikini either because I am modest (not shy, just modest) and I don't like the sun on my skin (not healthy, and leads to premature wrinkles). I like to wear bathing suit with a tank top and shorts on top of it, I can swim just as easily in it. I am 28 years old and I am not fat, just modest. There are probably many other women like me and her in the world. Please respect her wishes. Exposing so much skin is simply not necessary. There is no need to do it, just because the whole world does it. It is a personal choice.
