A female United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Hey, around 4/5 weeks ago i had unprotected sex and i am now 2 weeks and 2 days late for my period. This is pretty strange as i have had regular periods since the age of 13. Ive noticed changes, like, all of a sudden i've got loads of spots and a rash on my chest, am always eating, slightest thing can make me cry and have been so tired. However, have not felt sick or had headaches or anything... So anyway, getting to the point, i decided to take 2 boots pregnancy tests and they were both negative. Does anyone have any idea of whats going on? xx

First things first, if you don't want to worry about getting pregnant then use condoms during sex :) getting on the pill wouldn't hurt either.

Rash and spots are not, to the best of my knowledge, a sign of pregnancy. Also, pregnancy tests can often detect a pregnancy as early as the first day of your missed period. If yours is already two weeks late and neither of your tests was positive, chances are you're not pregnant. Remember also that it's not uncommon for a teenage girl to have irregular periods, especially if she is not taking hormonal contraception.

If you are still concerned about this, see a doctor or other licensed health care practitioner. (S)he will be able to administer a more accurate pregnancy test through blood or urine sampling, and you'll get a definitive answer.

Sophia_Sweetheart agony auntSweetheart you know, I was almost in the same position. My period was late by over 3 weeks and they had always been like clockwork! If the tests are all negative, it's most probably because you're stressing so much! That's what put mine off. If you need to chat or let off steam honey then mail me, but you just need to have a few long baths and try and relax and forget about it. Do everything you can to relax, or exercising might help bring it on. But honestly, try not to stress, it'll make it worse. Good luck sweetie =]

Your period could be late sue to stress and due to thinking that you're pregnant.

Try and relax, but go to you doctor about these strang symptoms that you have been having.

You should also have a smear test to make sure that you havn't picked up any STIs and Smiles has suggested.

Good Luck. x

Unprotected sex! How totally irresponsible! You want to have sex, be responsible; there is the risk of not just pregnancy, but waht about STD's and AIDS? Have you thought of that!

I would hate to speculate about why your period might be late; could be various reason;

I suggest you give it a few more days; if still no period; do another test; if still negative; go to the doctor;

Be strong and avoid unprotected sex!

hlskitten agony auntHmmm strange. Although you can get a false negative. You dont get false positives. I would go to the docs if i was you, and have them test you.

i would get checked out by your doctor. those pregnancy tests could not work and those symptoms might be the sign of an infection or something. your doctor will use a more accurate test and examine you to see what's up.

good luck :)
