If these are recent changes he might not want to walk around strangers with hardly any clothes on. If I read about a guy pressuring his girlfriend to show up to some event in some revealing costume and she was not into it I would say he is a jerk. I don't know you. I don't know him. I could be wrong. Just something to think about.

We have narrowed it down to Adonis and Aphrodite (which is basically togas with little gold circle headbands) or Leonidas of Sparta and his wife Gorgo. The toga for Adonis would show my boyfriends arms and shoulders but not his defined tummy (which is a rip off). If we do a shirtless Adonis he is back to basically a loincloth which was the hangup with Tarzan. The Spartan outfit is the most revealing in a way but also very recognizable because of the 300 movies. He is nervous about being practically naked. He does like the red cape and I am trying to sell him on that. He looks so good now and I am so proud of him, but I don't think he believes he has achieved show off status. I hope getting some feedback from a sexy costume will make him realize his progress really is good. He is doing the kettle bells all the time now to get ready, even when we are just watching TV. It is fun watching him exercise and be sort of athletic when that was not his thing before. I know I am pressuring him but I think this will be good for him. He also agreed to a tanning session my treat. I am lucky to have a guy who tries so hard to make me happy. I will go with toga Adonis if he cannot handle more, but he promised to think about the Spartan one for me.

You're very welcome. I adore costume parties! I guess Tarzan is more literary anyway. Have a good time and let us know if you win...

He said he is not comfortable in just a loincloth. I think he would look good, but that might be too much for a campus event with faculty. I love the historical couples mentioned. Thank you for the feedback.

You should probably avoid fairy tails and walt disney if you are going to a history party. Go with Helen and Paris.

If he likes the idea of a gladiator... Why not be a Roman General instead? For costume purposes the outfits are pretty similar.
He can be Mark Anthony and you can be Cleopatra.
