I went to college and we were great and just one day he broke up with me saying it was the distance, but after awhile he then told me the truth and said he was still in love with his ex. What should I do? I am still in love with this guy and I want to get him back.

I'm afraid you need to move on. He was a summer fling, and even you admitted there was something missing. The most damning thing is that we went back to his ex. I'm afraid you can't fight with that. You'll always be second to his ex.
Spend time moving on, spend time meeting new people, make new friends and have a great time at college. But don't hang on to this guy. He's not coming back, and even if he did he's already proved that he's not really trustworthy.
