I thought it was due to sleeping in the hotel bed during vacation but it still hurts now that I'm back home. During my two days of vacation I woke up much earlier than usual and slept earlier. I'm also recovering from a week of sore throat. Does anyone know what is happening? I'm a little sore in random places all over but my rib area doesn't feel typical. Thanks!

I would also see a doctor.
you are young but pain under the left rib cage high up (under the breast for women) is a sign of gall bladder problems...
however there something called referred pain... for example my shoulder hurt when I perforated an ulcer.... our bodies are odd sometimes.
A doctor is your best bet.

I would also go see a doctor if it does not go away in a few days. I have this problem frequently as I do circuit training and often pull a muscle in that area. Sometimes I can even hear weird sounds in that area as I breathe. I know mine is just from being active, but you want to get it checked out to be safe.

I would go see a doctor. If you have a respiratory infection if can be you have the beginning of pneumonia and that might be why your ribs hurt.
