A female , anonymous writes:

Hi I'm 14 years old and really worried. I started my periods when I was 12 and I got into a routine where I came on on the 6th or 7th of every month, but I have not been on for 4 months. Is this normal?

Hope I get replies. Thanx ox

hey sweetheart don't worry about that becasue at your age its very normal. don't you worry i mean i was 16 and i needed to be put on birthcontrol so its not a big thing. no i am not saying you will need to be put on it but if this goes on for about two years just ask your doctor to help you out a little bit. but until then just relax its just puberty. take deep breaths and i think you'll be fine.

DrPsych agony auntDon't worry for now as your body is still going through puberty and your periods may not be regular. However, if you are still having an irregular cycle when you are a little older, say 16, then get checked out by a doctor as there are many medical conditions associated with irregular cycles such as polycystic ovaries that can be treated easily. Try not to worry!

smeedle agony auntIt is normal at your age so not to worry, if you have had sex you may need to worry that you could be pregnant.

miss nade agony auntDearest Anonymous,

There can be a number of reasons why your cycle has stopped; it is nothing to be embarrassed about the best way to find out what is going on with your girly bits is to see a doctor. They will perform blood tests to check hormone levels and ask you a few other medical questions which will help with a diagnosis, if you are too scared to go buy yourself perhaps you could go with your mum or an older female friend/sister.

Best wishes

Miss Nade.
