my boyfriend and i really love each other. We have been together 1 1/2 yrs. He is in the army - work is very important to him. He is going on tour soon and I'm turning into a nervous wreck, but he doesn't seem to understand. I am getting nervous if I don't hear from him and he hasn't gone yet. I'm worried he will break up with me before he goes and I really don't want him to. I'm also nervous of talking to him about it.

Assuming that he has been in the army for a while, you knew when he joined that at some point he would have to go away. Its something you need to except.

My brother is in the army and has recently returned from Iraq. There are times when I dont hear from him for weeks and of course I worry but his career is his choice and we have to except what comes with it.

My brother and I are very close and if anything happened to him it would break my heart, but I want him to be happy more than I need him to reassure me that he will be okay.

I do understand your worries but what will be, will be. I doubt very much that he will break up with you, he obviously likes coming home to you. Enjoy the time you have before he goes, and be there to support him, he may be hiding mixed feelings about going away himself because he is more worried about you. I wish him good luck on his tour.
