A female Nigeria age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Hello all,

I'm so bothered and unhappy at the moment. I hope to be fine soon.

So, I am married and have a 2 year old daughter. I discussed having another baby with my husband and he said its fine. Though he doesn't seem so interested in having another child yet I guess.

My worry now is, I have been hoping to get pregnant since January this year but its not forthcoming. I spoke with my Doctor and she advised that I and my husband should try to have sex at least 3 times every week. Guess what ? It has been so difficult getting my husband to have sex with me. It's almost as if am I begging him to have sex with me. Worst part is that he says he knows I'm wanting sex just because I want to have a baby. I feel this is very unfair and insensitive of him.

I don't what to do. Would appreciate your kind advice please.

In fact, as a guy, I do not see any mention in your post about desiring your husband sexually. Your motivation is all geared towards getting pregnant. Am I misreading that?

mystiquek agony auntIts not a good sign if he isn't acting interested in having a baby and doesn't wish to have sex. Bringing a child into the world is no easy task as you know so its very important that you and your husband feel the same way. Even though he said its ok, he's certainly not acting like its ok so you really need to sit down and have a heart to heart with him. Why is he feeling and acting the way that he is? Maybe he feels very pressured and just isn't ready for another child. You need to know and you aren't going to know unless you ask him and tell him to be honest. He shouldn't agree if that isn't what he wants. Good luck
