They just say, oh every man becomes a bit impotent in their 40 s.Well, I can't believe this as a fact. Like really, over 40 its like that? What is the truth? What should I do,if I know he is not medically impotent? Reply to this Question Share |

If a woman does not want to have sex ever, and she is not willing to work on the underlying conditions on why she does not want to have sex, leave her.
If a man does not want to have sex ever, or he is not willing to get off of medications, etc., LEAVE HIM.
If your husband is willing to take ED meds, testosterone pills, improve his health through exercise and diet regimens, then it will fix itself.
Giving up on literally the one thing that makes you different from best friends is selfish and cruel.

I'm in my mid 40s and suffer some erectile dysfunction due to type 2 diabetes. I guess my question is did the doc give him a prescription? It is good he has a clean bill of health. A general practitioner is probably not going to look into hormone imbalances. Or emotional problem other than clinical depression. So you are not done yet.
In the meantime I do appreciate Satins answer. an erection is also not absolutely necessary for him to have an orgasm.

It is not at all true that "every man becomes a bit impotent in their 40s," but as an active man in my 60s, I agree with "CaringGuy" and "satindesire" that some factors can cause the problem of erectile dysfunction. Most notable, in my opinion, are blood pressure medications such as beta blockers. But there are alternatives. Stress, depression and other mental factors may also be culprits.

Are you 100% sure he is impotant? If he is healthy and all the tests turned out ok then, I doubt it, my guess he is masterbating, and or into pone if not both, believe me I am going through the same thing, they will go to the doctor, and great lengths to let you know the truth! They will do this to keep their secret from you, at worst he is having a real affair, or gay which I doubt, or like I said he is selfious and pleasing himself. I bet your bottom dollar I'm right!

Some men can become impotent without any cause, but usually if it's not a medical issue, then it's something else like stress. How is your husband coping with everthing in general at the momemt?
