Go to myfitnesspal.com and set up a profile. It is an all around health/fitness website. You can set your stats to gain weight and it will calculate how many calories to eat and then you just enter your food in your food diary, and most foods are already in there. They also have chat forums so you can look on the one for exercise to get some tips or post a question. I used it to lose weight, but my husband used it to gain and it helped us both.
And for foods to eat, try avocado. They are high in fat, mostly good fat, and they're good for you.

Well you could try working out just a bit (like to get muscle) but if you don't want that :P then you can eat things like granola bars, have bigger lunches etc. good luck :) xx

Just to add something to my post below - those numbers are for men. I don't know how fast women can expect to gain or lose muscle and fat, so for any female readers just looking for info, you'll want to do your own research. The difference in average testosterone alone is going to have a huge effect.

Weight is easy to control, but it takes patience. To gain weight, just eat more calories than you use in a day. To gain healthy weight, eat healthy foods and exercise - but remember that if you exercise, you will be using more calories, so you will have to eat more to gain weight.
Don't try to gain muscle and lose fat at the same time. Your body doesn't work like that unless you are already obese - and you said you are very slim. Gain weight until you have enough muscle, then switch to losing fat if you want to.
Realistically, gaining weight at a healthy rate means gaining about half a pound (0.2 kilogram) of muscle a week, or maybe a little less. So you will have to be patient and willing to gain weight slowly, but one year from now, you could weigh 8 or 10 kilograms more.

If you are intolerant to certain foods then intake of such foods will prevent you from putting on weight. If you smoke you will not get hungry as often, and if you drink a lot of coffee you will also not be hungry as often. So stay away from drinking too much coffee, don't smoke. Watch what you eat, and eat plenty of proteins. If you work out you need to increase your intake of proteins and eat larger portions of food.
Working out will make your muscles bigger and make you look better. Other than that it is very difficult to put on weight. It is genetically predetermined.

are you getting enough calories?
are you eating high protein foods?
do you get any exercise?
sometimes your build is just slender.. are you actually underweight or just want to build muscles?
eat and drink high protein foods like milk and meats... chicken, eggs, etc... do some weight training that helps bulk you up.
DO NOT resort to drugs or quack treatments.
