He likely has romantic feelings for you, or is just a really good friend trying to keep you from making a mistake. Not sure how old he is, but hopefully he's around your age. If not, don't get romantically involved with him, of course, and make other friends.

 you are his friend so he dousnt want you to get hurt, and if he knows a guy is no good then he adviously wouldnt want you around him. not only that but if its a guy he dousnt like and you started going out with him thenit would make it harder for your friend to hang out with you. if its really bothering you that bad though then just tell him that you dont tell him who he can date so he dousnt have the right to tell you who you can date.
