She's beautiful, sweet, and, above all, a good person at heart. Tonight something happened that really has me thinking. She told me she was out shopping at around 9 pm and that she would be home in a few hours. Well, 3 hours had passed (and it is EXTREMELY unusual for her to not follow through on anything she says) so I decided to call her. Her phone was turned off. I waited and waited for a few more hours, until finally I got a call from a strange number at 2:30. I picked up my phone and it was my girlfriend: "Before you say anything, I don't want you to worry or yell at me, but I'm in jail". So it turns out that her and her friend had spent the night on a shoplifting spree and finally got caught. This completely took me by surprise because she just doesn't seem like the kind of person who would do something like this. I know her friend has stolen things before, but never would I have thought that my girlfriend would do the same. My biggest pet peeve is stupidity, and my girlfriend knows this. Well, this is obviously the most stupid thing she has ever done, and I don't know how I can handle it right now. I just can't see myself with someone who is dumb enough to do this - and for NO apparent reason. What should I do?????

You need to address the problem and find out why she did it. Was it through peer pressure from her friends that are use to doing this sort of thing. Peer pressure is something that is hard to get away from. Right now she will need you more that ever and im guessing that after a night in the cells she wil maybe have been terrifid and probably will not attempt to do it again.
Tell her your views on the subject and that if she wants to do that then she does it with out you in her life.
