I understand your ex not liking him. You're an ex, and there might be something there, or it might be to do with his kids. I can understand your kids not liking him. Maybe they feel you should be with their Dad.
But I am concerned that your friends don't AS WELL.
That's concerning. Everyone dislikes this man. And when everyone dislikes one person, that one person is usually a problem. Maybe you need to listen your your family and friends about this. Maybe you've got rose tinted glasses and you can't see what this guy is really like. I don't mean that disrespectfully. But you need to listen to those around you, because to have everyone not liking him shows that there is something wrong.
