I'm a university student and I really like one of my tutors. He was nice to me when in first year and his classes were a laugh. Then in second year, he was really nasty to me slating my work in class and not replying when I emailed him questions to do with parts of the module that I didn't understand. I then took a gap year and every time I saw him he'd insist on hugging me, has offered me lifts, has a laugh with me and smiles at me a lot. My mate reckons he's got a soft spot for me... Help!!! I'm so confused!!

DMJ83 agony auntthis doesn't really answer the question.. i mean, affection is something you have for your old granny or your pet dog - what's the difference between a crush and affection??.. all I really want to know is whether or not he's attracted to me??.. i don't want to say something to him and have got it wrong!!

nologo agony auntThis sounds like you got a crush on your tutor.

He was nice to you at first, because he didn't know about it.

When your attitude to him became more evident, he changed.

After you took a gap year (as time passed) crush transformed into affection.

Looks like this affection is mutual, though I can't tell you if it's gonna be long lasting.
