A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

My friend is always telling me what shes doing and I really don't want to know. She is always acting very immature. Its Like I tell her something I want to do and then she goes and does it. Like for instance I said I was redoing my room, well she redid her room. Whenever I go shopping she goes shopping the next day. I need help on what to do. Its almost as if she has turned into my enemy.

Dr. John agony auntHave you stopped and taken an objective view of this situation?

It sounds to me like she is doing things to gain your approval.

As if she is wanting to prove that she can be just like you.

Why not try just sitting back and watch how she acts around you. You just may be her role model. Doc

my answer to your question would be that your friend is just trying to spend time with you and get to know you better. by mimmicing your actions, your friend is most likely trying to get some things in common with you to talk about. this is usually the case with people you just met and they are simply trying to get to know you. if you have known this person for a while, then the answer is even easier: some people are just like that and with a little time and patience, they should move past this phase in a little while.

alieP91 agony auntBasically all you need to do is either keep putting up with it or tell her. And if you go with telling her give her conditions, like if she doesn't stop doing it then there just won't be a friendship anymore.

If something as flattering as being copied is "annoying" you than perhaps your the immature one?

Seriously, its a huge compliment. She wants to be just like you. It will only bother you if you let it.
