My foreskin doesn't retract. How do I correct this?

A male , *odofGraphics writes:

Alright, I am an 18 year old male, living in the UK.

Growing up I lost my virginity with my grilfriend when I was 15, and have had various sexual partners since then.

When I lost my virginity, my slightly more experienced girlfriend mentioned that my penis was 'different' to someone else's but I didnt make a big deal about it.

Other partners have mentioned this too. What I have been told is my foreskin doesnt retract when I get an erection. This hasn't affected sex in any way, but I dont like not being 'normal'.

Is there anything I can do to resolve the situation without circumsision, because I have tried to retract my foreskin, but it hurts, and I don't want to damage anything important...

Thanks

I am 15 and i have this problem BUT when i am fooling around with my girlfriend i notice that it rolls back and it is starting to not hurt BUT when i get a normal erection without my girlfriend i notice that it doesnt roll back so i guess its a tempermental thing and i would suggest just rolling it back when unerect and then moving it up and down; as this will prepare it for friction and air contact which it wouldnt be used to.

Umh yeah kinda late...

I just want to say I have had this problem as well, I just kept stretching it every day and now its working just fine.

Do not circumsize your foreskin, you will regret it.

If stretching hurts be sure to use some oil or other sort of lube.

A male reader, anonymous, writes (30 July 2010):

hello, my girlfriend and i have had sex a few times and before my foreskin never retracted and i didnt worry. the last time however, my foreskin retracted fully and was behind the head. it hurt so much and i was nearly in tears. i was so surprised at this happening because i had a condom on. with some rubbing and moving the foreskin around it went back to normal :) such a relief! however with my pain i have found comfort in finding out that it WILL retract. my girlfriend has pulled the foreskin slightly over the top many times and i think it was more shock than pain. if you cant retract your foreskin then i suggest you get your girlfriend to do it for you! otherwise you'll be taking it slowly and messing around. i have started to do streches ever since and it does not hurt as much even though i cant pull it the whole way back. i didnt mind about it before and i still dont but im curious about my body as we all are haha! good luck ;)

i have the same problem as you all im 20 and i only found out that my foreskin should be able to go back, so i started to pull my foreskin back a bit everyday a few times like 2-3 times a day, i would roll the skin back as far as it could go back until it was a bit sore, it seems to work for me i can know pull my foreskin the hole way back, but not erect yet but i think if i keep doing it i will get it as it seems to get less sore and pulls back easier know.

but the skin on my head of my penis is a bit sore and the skin is a bit raw and dry, if i use Vaseline on the head of my penis the skin under my foreskin that might get rid of the dry skin i think?

i hope that i helped

hey i am 20, and have had this problem for as long as i can remember, prob since about 12/13 and i have tried the pullin the skin back gradually with lube/water/everything, and nothing is working for me, i feel strange in front of women, even tho non have said anything about it. but i still dont like it, i will be goin to doctor within the next week to get it checked out, and hopefully get circumcised, just so i dont get embarraced by my penis. i will also comment afer i have been to the doors, good look, i know how you all feel, if you dont suffer from this, dont bother commenting, because you cannot know or feel how we feel! thanks pw20

A male reader, Dr.10inch United States +, writes (3 June 2009):

i use to have the same problem .. it sucked.

the problem is that your foreskin isnt use to being retracted all the way!! retract the foreskin while soft to get the head use to the conditions, after get erect and it will get tight and a bit uncomfortable.but chill, its just your frenelum getting use to being stretched,do it everytime your alone in the shower or when ?. i do this often in the shower, my frenelum skin got use to it and began to become stretchier,

and now when im with my girl she can RETRACT THE SKIN ALL THE WAY DOWN and it feels normal , before you have sex make the head moist .. Trust me dudes it works, give it a couple weeks.

GOODLUCK 8====D~ ~ ~~~~

A male reader, Keo Austria +, writes (8 November 2008):

The skin attaching your foreskin to your head is called the frenulum, this is cut in circumcisation, but for uncut people this should stay forever, it is the most sensitive part of the male body, that is why that many cut men have said that during sex there is less sensation.

All you guys that say you cant pull your foreskin back, just pull it as far as you can without feeling any pain everyday after you piss or are in a bath, or at night pull it then masterbate, because cum contains natural extracts then just sleep to let it dry in, then in the morning wash it all away. This should then make your head more moist and easier to roll back. If you stil cant after a few months then the chances are you have phimosis, i would recommend going to a doctor but if you dont feel compfortable with that then check up some creams on google that you will be able to buy from a pharmacy.

Hope I helped.

A male reader, anonymous, writes (21 May 2008):

HEY,

Just thought i'd say that i've got the foreskin attached to my bell end, and the name is Frenulum breve if you wanna look it up. It affects about 5% of non-circumsized men and 3% of women (i was joking about the women, they generally lack penises for Frenulum breve).

Your Frenulum is the bit of skin that all men have between their foreskin and bell end, but generally it's long enough to sit lightly and invisible against your penis.

The only real problem is that it's a bit short and can be uncomfortable. You can look it up yourself, you can just google it and it comes up with everything you need.

Hope i was of some help.

I'm 17 years old about 3 years ago I had problems retracting my foreskin as well, I could never get it to go over the wider part of the head. So I read up about it on the internet and the site said to lightly tug on the foreskin when your cock is soft, and when the foreskin isn't retracted at all. Doing this for about 4 or 5 months fixed my problem and now I can pull my foreskin down past the head. Hope this helps.

A male reader, anonymous, writes (21 June 2007):

The condition is known as PHIMOSIS. Don't worry it's not serious and quite common. Gradual stretching in the bath, as described may solve the problem, if not your doctor can prescribe a steroid cream which will help with the stretching. The condition will improve in time, but consult your doctor anyway.

A male reader, anonymous, writes (10 April 2007):

when your in the bath slowly pull the foreskin back until you see your bell end. i reccommend that you dont pull back behind the bell end glans (also known as bellendiglanomiuos), just before the glans and keep it in that position. This will stretch the skin and if this is done everytime you have a bath (in my case once a month, due to unclean water) your skin should then be loose like a 90 year old ladys tricep (also known as bingo wings). hope this helps.

this is not a medical condition because you have tight skin around the penis.

As a teen I had the same problem. My doctor told me to tug back each time I pissed and to tug back in the bath and wash under the skin. He also told me when I jackof leave the cum under my foreskin bundle and wash it of in the morning it contain a natural substance that help in breaking the attachments. In 5 or 6 months I could skin it all the way back and when I shot it was across the tub and my girl friend stated she loved to feel it when we fucked.

Hey bud,

I have the exact same problem. I am turning 18 next april and i have noticed that my foreskin doesn't pull back either. However, I have discovered that there is a small peice of skin connected to the foreskin, and the head of my penis disallowing the foreskin to move down.

I was wondering if this was the same as you?

When I read your message I was quite pleased to find that im not the only one, but then after reading the replies, and i quote "you have a medial condition and should see your GP immediatly" i started to get a bit worried.

However then globalchill came in and said that you should leave it if intercourse is alright....now im completely lost with what to do.

smeedle agony auntYou have a medical condition and need to go see your GP, you must not delay in getting this seen to as it can and will cause you problems in later life.

Do not worry about circumsision as there maybe no need for this, but if you do have to have it, dont worry you will not loose any of the sensation you get during sex and it may enhance it, im sure there are a lot of male agony aunts who will advise you more but I really cannot labour the point about going to your GP.

A male reader, Globalchill +, writes (18 February 2006):

You didnt mention how far it retracts, if any. When I was younger mine didnt go all the way back, I couldnt get it over the widest part of the glans.

I really didnt want to get circumcised but was concerned with the hygiene part ie build up of smegma, so I explored the internet for alternative treatments. I came across an anti-circumcision site which explained such techniques as gentle stretching of the foreskin. Along with some cream I got from the GP, it started to go further back, I would then go back as far as I could without it being sore and then hold it there for a minute or two.

After repeating this for a while I eventually got my foreskin completely back behind the glans. To be honest it scared me because I had never seen it like that and was worried about getting my foreskin to go back over the glans.

You have to be careful because if the foreskin gets stuck behind the glans then its a medical emergency, The glans swell up and go black with the chance of you losing your penis which is why the hospital will do an emergency circumcision when this happens. Its called paraphimosis, do a search in google and you can read about it.

In all honesty though if you are having no problems having sex and its just because girls are saying its weird, I wouldnt worry, just turn it into a joke and say to them its because your unique or one in a million! I had to do something with mine because it hurt having sex, but thankfully the stretching worked for me.

Its ok in the usa where most are circumcised and women think foreskins are weird, but its the opposite in the uk and I wanted to keep mine.

Hope that helps chief.
