I wouldn't ask to meet up with him, not for now at least. He may just wants to talk to you and get to know you again. Maybe he's changed somewhat (hence his reason for wanting to show you his picture.) How do you feel about him? Would you meet up with him again? My advice to you is to continue talking with him without the pressure. Be friendly and pleasant and let HIM call the shots. He may just be playing a game with you to see if you're still interested in him so play him at his own game here, for a little while at least and see what transpires.
