I think maybe it's for the best that you don't speak to him. You broke up, and you deleted his number because he never spoke. Then suddenly he makes contact? He might want to get back with you, but think realistically. All those problems will still be there. And it's not even like he made an effort either. He just said 'never mind'. I think you're best off leaving him in the past.
