After the dust had settled we have remained platonic and by choice are still not dating anyone else.My dilemma is whilst there are still raw emotional edges between us to overcome - he’s gone and paid for a cruise in September for us in the hope of reconciliation and much to my astonishment. I’m flattered and yet anxious by his generous gesture knowing that it was something we both had tentatively planned on doing when we were living together.I’m afraid I accepted his gesture without my whole heart being in it - a shock re-action perhaps? Now that I’m back in reality; I’m in two minds as I do not see us ever getting back together plus it’s a trip of a live time but with the wrong person.

You're not getting back together, so this will only lead to hurt. I think it would be best not to go.

I think it would be a disaster for you to go and will send him some kind of hope, that you want to get back together. Surely he can invite a friend or family member to go with him instead. I think it would be awkward and just make things more muddy between you.
