writes: hi i have been going out with my boyfriend for 9 months now in the beginning i knew he smoked pot but after a couple weeks in to our relationship he told me he was quitting for good and i belived him. nine months went by and i asked him if he really quit and he said no he had been doing it this whole entire time. i was so hurt. people before told me he was doing it but i didnt believe them and now i feel like an idiot. people tell me to leave him but i cant i love him to death. what should i do?

First of all, he did it before you and if you don't like it you should leave him. You shouldn't try to change him. If you have to change him, then its not the person you love. TRUST ME! My man does worse. When you get older, even a few years, you'll realize, the little stuff doesn't matter anymore. Its petty. But if it bugs you that much, then leave him. GOOD LUCK!

reader, anonymous, writes (19 May 2006): You've answered your own question. However, in case you clearly tell, you said "people tell me to leave him but i cant i love him to death". You were basically saying, you love him so much (don't know why), so even if he takes drugs as his mistress, you'll stay together with him.
