Although, over the time we've been going out i've started coming up with really nasty skin irritations whether it be exema or rashes i'm not entirely sure .... But bascially whenever we've been in bed together (we always go to his) his room is quite messy and he has a pet rat behind a curtain on his window sill but despite him stopping the rat from going around his room and him cleaning his bedroom (although it didn't look that clean last time i went in! :P ) Him shaving and not putting his aftershave on i still keep coming up with horrible skin irritations, in places it's like a splodgey rash, in others it's like exema and in others it's like red dots. But i really don't know what else there is to consider to stop this happening. And i feel awful because everything we try to do to stop it doesn't work and it makes my boyfriend feel awful seeing me come up all red and itchy and sore and obviously it's really irritating for me the next day too ...Please help me! In addition to MsKin's advice, I would find out what kind of soap and shampoo products your boyfriend is using. Perhaps, you can test them to see if they give you any reaction.
I am mildly allergic to my bunny who lives indoors. I only have a reaction if I touch my eyes after handling him. My eyes tear up and become very itchy. Claritin-D works wonders for pet allergies. The "D" formula is kept behind the pharmacist's counter, and you have to ask for it, but it doesn't require a prescription. They have some milder Claritin formulas on the open shelf, but I would opt for Claritin-D. You can get coupons from their website. Also, make sure your boyfriend cleans his rat's cage on a regular basis. Everyone I've ever know who has pet allergies exhibits runny, itchy, eyes, a runny nose, sneezing, etc.
I would take a good look at the products you are using as well. Have you used anything new or have any of your regular products changed their ingredients?
You really need to visit a dermatologist to find out what is causing your rash. Let us know if you find out the cause. Good luck!

It could be alot of things:
fleas
bedbugs
scabies
Consider visiting a doctor to get a medical opinion, that way you know how to take care of it.

You could be allergic to the detergent that he uses on his sheets. Or any air freshener he sprays in his room? You could be allergic to the rat despite how much he keeps the rat away. It still gets into the air. Why don't you try hanging at yours for a week and see if the rash improves? See a doctor though, incase this is something more serious than just irritating your skin? You could have some sort of virus or something? Does it get better when you go awhile without seeing him?
I think you should probably see a doctor or a dermatologist (i think thats the right one) and while you're getting around to that don't use anything that isn't natural on your skin. no perfumed wash or perfumed spray and try using E45 cream or Sudocrem and see if it helps at all.
Hope this helps.
