A male Barbados age 41-50, *yla3 writes:

Hi I am 7 months pregnant by my boyfriend of 9 months. The problem is my parents are not very supportive of me bringing this child into the world with someone they hardly know plus the fact that the relationship is long distance but I reason I have my life to live. My problem is my b/friend came home and purposely distanced himself away from me actually told me he was leaving a Sunday and picked up and left the Saturday. When I finally asked him what was going on, he told me he didn't know if he could handle my family and their attitudes...I need him now more than ever but for some strange reason I am finding it hard to forgive him and his actions. Tell me what should I do?

A male reader, Danielepew Mexico +, writes (2 July 2007):

Danielepew agony auntI would find it difficult to forgive him, too, and the reason is not strange at all: you need him the most, and the man goes away. I think it's a bad sign that he left Saturday but said he was leaving Sunday. And, maybe he cannot handle your family and their attitudes, but he should find a way to be with you and become responsible for the child.

If I were you, I would tell him exactly that: that your family may be horrible (which I doubt), but he has "family" coming with you, and he needs to tell you where you stand.

Keep your spirits up.
