A female Australia age 30-35, anonymous writes:

my boyfriend seems to flirt with my best friend sometimes. she doesnt flirt back but he seems to be extra nice to her. i wouldnt mind normaly, its just he talks to her as well. he tells her stuff about his family that he used to talk to me about but he doesnt anymore. he doesnt talk to me about serious stuff anymore and it makes me really sad. i nearly cried in class about 5 times today.

and sometimes, when something serious happens in his life, he doesnt tell me whats going on and just shuts me out and ignores me when hes usually really nice and cuddly but suddenly he will avoid me. it makes me think i have done something wrong. he doesnt even tell me its not something im doing.

is there any way i can get him to talk to me and stop flirting with other girls?

Phsyciatrist-to-be agony auntYou should get him alone with you and speak to him about all this. Tell him you're concerned about how much time he spends with your friend etc, and you want to spend more time with him: just the two of you. Remind him that you love him. Make sure that he takes you seriously.
