reader, anonymous, writes (9 May 2007): yes it is ok as you are over 16 buut u need to make sure your both ready to take the next step ime 17 and im with a 33 year old and we waited til i was 16 to have sex but maybe your boyfriend just wants to wait to make sure you are sure you want to and u wont regret it later on maybe you should speak to your boyfriend and tel em you are ready and want it to happen

 Yes its legally okay but he probably just wants to feel like you're a fully consenting adult when you have sex. You're not termed an adult until you're 18 in the UK so in my opinion thats what he's worried about. Think about it a different way- if you wait your birthday sex is going to be explosive!

 well....before i read on i wud like 2 comment on the age difference! although many peeple may have spoken to you about your boyfriend being 15 years older than you i just want to try and understand! ......... yes it is legal 2 have sex with him because you ar both over the age of 16! erm...ur boyfriend sounds like he is coming from the right point of view! he maybe just wants 2 make sure u are ready concidering the age gap!!......w.b sooon xxxx
