I can understand why he might be upset but it seems that he is carrying on a bit.
Upset and annoyed is one thing but carrying on like a pork chop is just silly.
I think that you should tell him or message him or write him a note and say to him that you are sorry he lied and you would like the opportunity to discuss it and make sure that you get through it together but you this can only happen if you are both calm and reasonable.
He is upset and as I said, I can see why but you have no committed the crime of the century - it is something which he really needs to forgive you on and forget it. Chalk it down as a bump in the relationship and move on.

First of all, it was really none of his business. If you chose to answer him, you should not have lied. If it was something that was going to anger him, that should have been a red flag for you. Now that he knows, it 's for him to get over. You can apologize for the lie but what happened before you meant him is your business.
