We have been very close friends for as long as I can remember and one day she sends a text saying she doesnt want to be friends and she needs her space, and I have respected that and not contacted her at all but I know thats not the real reason and its driving me crazy... I miss my friend, I've done nothing wrong, and we had so many plans for the future. I'm so confused!

Oh I do feel for you. That is a very difficult situation to be in. My suggestion would be a hand written letter saying that you respect her feelings to give her space and that you are very sad about it, but that you want to let her know you will always be here for her if she needs you. Then just try to move on with your life gracefully.

try your best to give her time to herself. She must be going through something big and will come back to you when all is worked out. I have a friend from work who stopped talking to her best friend for over a month because they grew apart and had completely different interests but in the end they became friends again and are closer than ever.
