writes:For about 8 months now i have felt very strongly towards a guy who is also one of my best mates. Recently people have been saying that he likes me too but doesnt know if it is as a good friend or a girlfriend. However my best friend just said that she likes him too (which i dont blame her for, so dont say she is a crap mate) but i dont know what to do. i also think that he might like her and i dont know if i can cope if they start seeing each other even though she wont if i say it will upset me but im not goin to do that. Anyway i dont know if i should talk to him about it because if he does feel the same way then i cant go out with him anyway because of my best mate and if he doesnt feel the same as me and does like my best mate then i wont know what to do either, so what should i do???

reader, anonymous, writes (8 February 2009): i say go for it. its okay. look you and your friend are gonna have a lot of agreements and disagreements on who you like so this is just another one of those situations. if she is your true best friend she should be able to understand and be happy for you. Like every other guy she can get over him and move on.

hello.thought id reply cause iv been in quite a similar situation, what to do really is from past experience, get the lads number if you dont already have it and pop him a text message, get to know him more and let him know you more, then when you think things are right, ask him. as for your friend just ask her straight if she likes him or not, or tell her you like him aswell, b honest with each other because thats what best friends do.
