 I would ignore him.
He probably contacted you because he was going through a quiet patch or because he needed an ego boost or a trip down memory lane.
He is an ex for a reason and the fact he hasn't contacted you since your brief 'get together' indicates he just needed a boost but isn't really interested in getting back with you on a permanent basis.
people do this to eachother all the time and someone always ends up getting hurt.
Brush it off and get on with your life...the next time he rolls around for another boost...tell him you can't help him out.
