writes:I have a 50ish male friend in a psuedo relationship. They were once engaged but now live apart and no longer have sex because of "sexual issues". Yet he calls her his girlfriend but lies to her and cheats on her. I've heard she cheats on him too. Why would a guy live like this?

Why does it matter to you? They know they have a psuedo relationship and they keep going with it because it fulfills some - healthy or unhealthy - need in them. It's their business. You couldd also ask why she lives like this too, but - again - why does it matter to you?
