Masturbation for guys at your age is very normal. Most boys masturbate several times a week, regardless of whether or not they have a girlfriend.  Unless you're masturbating like mad, that probably wouldn't affect it. You said so yourself, she didn't know how to do it. If you're not getting turned on by it, of course you can't stay hard. The next time she does it, put your hand over hers and move her hand exactly how you want it done. Don't just timidly shyly guide her with words, show her.

Once a day isn't crazy but now that you are in a relationship you need to make sure it doesn't affect hwo things go there. You need to do some experimenting to see how long it takes after you masturbate before you feel like you are getting a full erection. Also it might help to go for an every other day clip to see if that improves things. For me, if I wait more than 18 hours I am good to go for my wife, but if I do anything within 12 hours chances are that I will not be able to function properly for my wife, which is obviously not desirable.
