I want to reconnect with an ex I haven't spoken to in 2 years. There's no bad blood between us. We spoke after the break-up a few times on good terms until we both graduated. Ladies, what would you enjoy reading in an email from a long lost ex-boyfriend?

peaches08 agony auntWas your relationship a long term one?

Why are you wishing to reconnect?

Have you considered that she may of moved on in life, and may be quite suprised/shocked to hear from you?

When you write this email, dont be overly passionate, she may be involved with someone and it may cause trouble for her!

Personally i'd just start off with general chat, ask how she is, what she has been up to, and you should probably apologise for not staying in contact! It has been 2 years after all..

sarcy24 agony auntHi there,

I would be really pleased to receive an e-mail out of the blue from an old boyfriend. I would hope it would talk about times that we spent together and mutually enjoyed and maybe a few comments on jokes and in things that only you and she shared. I once saw an old boyfriend who I hadn't seen for 3 years and he talked about how much he wished he'd acted differently and that he had always felt a lot for me etc and because I still felt something for him I really enjoyed hearing this. It bought us close together again but sadly it didn't work out this time around either. I think women like to be told how attractive they are so put that in and that she was always very special to you and then reminisce about the past. If you just want her as a friend then general catching up talk will do but if you want to rekindle something then definitely say that she was very beautiful, and how she was a very special woman.

I hope that helps - good luck
