k_c100 agony auntWell as pinktopaz says, smoking whilst on the pill puts your health at risk so it is best to avoid it. But you must know how bad smoking is for you anyway right?

It significantly increases your chance of cancer (including lung cancer, cancer of the larynx etc), it will give you wrinkles, your teeth will be irreversably stained yellow, your nails will turn yellow.....the list goes on. So if you continue to smoke then you will seriously damage your health and when you get to 30/40 you will look at least 10 years older. It does some serious damage to your appearance, do you really want that?

If you have managed to stop smoking for now then well done, you are doing really well! Keep up the good work and eventually the cravings to smoke will stop, that feeling of wanting/needing a cigarette is just the nicotine cravings (the addictive substance in cigarettes).

Stay strong and quit smoking for good, it will do your health and appearance wonders!

I hope this helps and good luck!

Well...they don't put that on the booklet for nothing. First off, it's not good to smoke either way, and it's usually a bad idea for women over 35 to smoke and take an oral contraceptive (I feel like the chick in the Yaz commercial). It just can potentially increase the risk for getting blood clots. I'll be honest, I smoke and have been on the pill for 8 years and I've been fine but not everyone is the same. I'm not a doctor so that's something you should talk to them about.
