But in the past I have been on about 4 different types of pill and I have always become depressed and gained weight. I just wanted to know if anyone has taken the Yasim pill and what side effects they got from it?

Hiya,
I took Yasmin a few years ago and found my skin become blotchy, I developed more facial hair/ingrowing hairs (hence the blotchy painful spots) and put on a stone very quickly. The final straw was the depression and mood swings, I became suicidal and then I knew I had a serious problems. Similar problems also with Cilest and Microgynon so just using condoms.
Not everyone's solution but yet to find a pill that doesn't add to my depressive tendencies.

No guarentee it will work for you too, but at least it could be another pill you could rule out if you find the side effects unsatisfactory.

I was told yasmin would cure acne, no weight gain - possibly lose some and bigger boobs -- i thought miracle drug!! however, i've now gained 7 kgs. I keep a fitness record because I participate at university level and have precisely gained a kilo a month despite being very active. It cannot be put down to freshman's 15 as i initially thought. obviously, its different for everyone. i have friends on yasmin who has no side effects whatsoever.

It is quite heavy and am having a lot of stomach cramps, aches and pains in my 7 day pill free week. made no difference to facial and body hair but has regulated periods although my periods are much more painful taking yasmin than without. also seems to be some blood clotting so very worried and not sure whether to stop using. can anyone shed any light?

My skin was clear and the pills worked great. Now I am always hungry. Before and after my period. I eat everything in sight. I am depressed and my skin is horrible. I don't know if this is a delayed side effect or what but I am considering getting off. I want to actually lose weight not gain weight! And my depression and moodiness has to go! I am snapping at everybody. This is not fun and this is definitely not what I signed up for. If things do not improve soon I am saying goodbye to Yasmin!

I am interested in this too, I recently went to my doctor and asked to change my birth control pill to Yasmin because of all of the good things I have heard about it, but I found out my insurance doesn’t pay for it so she put me on Demulen... I would like to know if anyone has had any experience with it too, I am on my 3rd day. I have a huge problem with birth control causing me to break out, not to mention lack of libido and I have gained almost 1 pound per month. If I here more success stories about Yasmin then maybe I will just have to fork over the money next time!
