writes: I was 40 and I had a string of failed relationships behind me.I guess I had given up. My best friend and I would talk about men and love and we'd share our lonely tales. One day I helped her create a profile on a dating website. She decided to write a lengthy piece about herself, commenting that the only person who would 'get it' would be her soul mate. A whole year went by and we both had totally forgotten about the ad.About 80 miles away, two guys who were also best friends, were wasting an afternoon on the net when they stumbled upon this dating site. The profile they found was my friend's. One of these guys answered the lonely heart ad, encouraged by his best friend, just as I had encouraged my best friend to post it.Anyway, they meet and fell in love. My best friend's new boyfriend told his best friend about me. So, we began to exchange emails. At first we spoke of our best friends and how we hadn't seen much of each other since they fell in love. Eventually, we started to talk on the phone. After a week of chat, we decided to be brave and meet up.Basically, it was love at first sight and we've been together seven years now. I like to think it was Karma. Because we were both caring about our friends and supporting them, our reward was finding love too.
