I have this friend, and we've been friends for a long time now. We became really close and since the first day I met her I seemed to like her. She then moved away from town and we've kept in touch, and we're slowly losing contact, I barely talk to her anymore, and I never see anymore. It's been 4-5 years now that I've liked her and we've spoken about it many times, and she doesn't feel the same way just due to our school commitments. And just recently I've realized that I'm in Love with her and I havn't told her, and its beginning to get really hard for me. And at the same time I believe that she likes someone else. What should I do?.. should I tell her that I'm in Love with her?.. I don't know what to do.

A female reader, anonymous, writes (14 November 2005):

The advice I'd give to you, and anyone in fact is never be afraid to tell someone how you feel about them. Whatever your situation just go for it, I mean there is always a chance that it wont work out but even when that seems like the end of the world eventually you dust yourself off and try again. But if you don't go for it you have to live with the eternal "what if?!" Don't let yourself regret that you let her just leave it could be a decision that changes your whole life.

I feel you have to tell her how you feel! Then if she tells you she doesnt feel the same, then at least you know. You can stay friends, at least that way she will always be in your life.Always be there for her and you never no what the future holds. In the meantime enjoy your life, the woman of your dreams could just be round the corner.

she's already told you she doesn't feel the same. try and keep your friendship with her but admitting your feelings knowing she doesn't feel the same will push her away and make the friendship awkward
