Each person is very different, but from my own experience with this same situation I will have to agree, his nails may have been too long. A few months ago after we did this I noticed blood the next morning. Then a few weeks back after we got up from the bed, there was blood on the sheets. I could feel something hurting when he went in, but didn't really put it all together until we chatted about the situation and realised his nails were too long. Its become a standing joke with us that he must trim his nails often. Hope this helps. If things dont seem to be healing, consult your doctor. Best Wishes, Cindy

He could have simply scratched you with his nails or snagged something inside you a little too roughly. I find if i get 'rubbed' inside too hard while being fingered i bleed a bit.
I shouldn't worry too much unless the bleeding is still occuring now and if it still hurts a lot. Make sure your boyfriend trims his nails just for future reference.
If this isn't the case and ur still worried, simply see a doctor.
