I've had an attack of some sort of tummy bug, and I'm worried: my pill says that such things can make birth control ineffective!! What do I do to combat the possibility? My boyfriend and I are very active, and although while I'm sick of course I don't feel up to it, I know that sperm can live quite a while in there.....

What do I do?

Thank you!! hopefully everything will be OK. We'll see in a few weeks, when I'm due for my period. I've been feeling sick on-and-off for the past several days- I think it's mostly stress, though. Not ready for a baby yet!

penta agony auntYou should use condoms until you're finished with this pill pack and start the next. BTW, antibiotics can mess with the pill, too.

YummyMummy agony auntI feel pregnant 7 months ago because I was ill and it messed my period up. Me and my partner used condoms for a week after I started taking the pill again properly. It wasn't long enough!

I would use condoms until you are doubly sure that you are protected again. Better to be safe then sorry. And believe me when I say you should use them for longer than a week :D

Use condoms, it's actually a very simple solution. Unless you want to risk getting pregnant but there's always a risk.
